Colours: der, die, das
At a new job, it is usually best to start with Sie unless du is clearly part of the company culture. Du is common in many companies, especially those with younger or international staff and in fields such as IT, while Sie is more usual in conservative sectors such as banking and insurance. Switch to du once a higher-ranking colleague offers it.
